Call of Duty

Call of Duty is a very sucessful computer/video game franchise with titles in first-person and third-person shooter genre. The games are mainly developed by studios Infinity Ward and Treyarch, but several other had involved on the titles present on a variety of platforms like PCs, consoles and mobile devices.

The first Call of Duty title was released on October of 2003 as a computer/video game based on the popular Quake III Arena engine named id Tech 3. Developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, the title is based on infantry warfare during World War II period.

The series came beyond games with release of products like action-figures made by Plan-B Toys, a card game designed by Upper Deck and a comic book serie by Wildstorm.

A big commercial success, the franchise sold more than 100 million game copies, with more than 40 million active users playing Call of Duty each month.
